Polycom Announces Five Major Appointments to Expand Its Leadership in Video Collaboration

- Alert), a provider of unified communications (UC) solutions, has appointed five new sales executives –including four new area VPs and a new VP for Worldwide Systems Engineering – to step up video collaboration solutions business among enterprises in North America.
Four new North America area vice presidents (AVPs) include Greg Prindle, AVP of the Enterprise East region; Peter Elmgren, AVP of Enterprise West; Joe Vranicar, AVP of Enterprise Central; and Dean Ash, AVP of Enterprise South. All four will report to David Ruggiero, president of Polycom North America.
The new sales executives based in North America are expected to improve the penetration and adoption of Polycom video collaboration solutions in the enterprise. They are assigned with the major task of improving sales of Polycom RealPresence Platform, a comprehensive software infrastructure for video collaboration.
Polycom has also hired Ashan Willy as its new VP of worldwide systems engineering to ensure its standards-based solutions meet the needs of enterprises around the globe. Willy will report to Tracey Newell, Polycom's executive vice president of Global Sales.
Polycom is also focusing on video collaboration solutions including RealPresence immersive, room solutions, video software for laptops and mobile devices.
To focus on growing sales of Polycom UC and video collaboration solutions to enterprises, the new VPs will be developing and implementing go-to-market plans across the region, while working with Polycom's alliance, service provider, and VAR partners to increase penetration in enterprise accounts.
“Video collaboration is mission-critical in the enterprise and is driving a more effective and productive workforce, and Polycom has the vision, strategy, and products to transform enterprise collaboration into a major competitive advantage,” said Newell.
“With today's appointments, we are refining the alignment of our organization, expertise, and sales motion around the needs of enterprises, to capture more opportunities and drive the network effect of video through traditional on-premises delivery, as well as new delivery platforms such as mobile and social,” Newell added.
Recently, Lenovo (News - Alert) and Polycom announced their agreement to offer Polycom RealPresence HD video and HD Voice solutions on Lenovo laptops and tablets. The two companies will develop innovative solutions that optimize and embed Polycom RealPresence video collaboration solutions on Lenovo laptops and tablets.
